Describe the HR tool you need. ToolJet builds it.

Type what you want in plain language. ToolJet generates the pages, queries and logic as a working app. Connect your data, configure access with your admin, and review the generated logic before publishing. Edit the app on the canvas afterwards.

Tools HR teams build with ToolJet

Describe the tool, or start on the canvas. The output is a working application on your data, not a mockup.

Custom onboarding solutions

Build customized onboarding apps to speed up new hire processes by automating document submissions, training schedules, and team introductions so the first week runs smoothly.

Employee self-service portals

Create self-service apps that let employees update their info and access pay stubs, boosting satisfaction while easing administrative work.

Attendance management tools

Automate attendance and leave requests with custom apps to speed up approvals, track patterns, and keep policy compliance in check.

Policy and document tracking

Track policy acknowledgements, required documents and review dates. Give your HR team a clear queue of missing items and follow-up tasks.

Data analytics dashboards

Create real-time dashboards to track key HR metrics like performance, turnover, and engagement, enabling smarter strategic decisions.

Integrated communication platforms

Create tools that enable smooth communication between HR and employees, allowing quick sharing of updates, policies, and announcements through integrated messaging.

From people process to a working HR app

  1. 01

    Connect your people systems

Choose the employee fields and actions needed from your HRIS, calendar or ticketing system. Use approved connectors and credentials.

  2. 02

    Describe the employee journey

Define the onboarding tasks, leave-request stages or review cycle. Use AI to create the starting app, then adjust the screens and logic on the canvas.

  3. 03

    Configure access for each audience

Set separate access for employees, managers and HR. Test sensitive queries and record visibility with representative users before sharing the app.

  4. 04

    Pilot and assign an owner

Run the workflow with a small group, check reminders and approvals, and gather feedback. Assign ownership for app maintenance and connected credentials.

Built in, not bolted on

The controls your IT team already expects

Configure identity, permissions and audit logging for your HR apps in one workspace, whether your team builds on the canvas or with AI. SSO, SCIM, advanced permissions and audit logs depend on your plan and deployment.

Single sign-on and SCIM

SAML, OIDC and LDAP, with directory groups mapped onto ToolJet roles and provisioning through SCIM.

Permissions down to the query

Workspace, app, page, component and datasource-level access. Row-level security where the data needs it.

Audit key platform events

Review supported app, user and query events with timestamps and actor details. Store business approvals and record changes in your connected system as part of the workflow.

Runs where you say

ToolJet Cloud, your VPC, on-premise or air-gapped. Bring your own LLM keys or route AI through an on-prem gateway.

Two ways to get there

Build it yourself, or bring our engineers in

Self-serve

Your team, your pace

Start free. Describe the tool, refine it on the canvas, and ship it under your own access rules. Start with one workflow, then test it with your team before rolling it out.

Questions HR teams ask before they start

How do we restrict employee data to the people who should see it?

Configure roles and row-level rules for HR, managers and employees. Restrict the queries each group can run, and test that managers can access only their own reports.

Can ToolJet run in our own environment for people data?

Yes. ToolJet supports self-hosting in your infrastructure, with enterprise options for air-gapped deployments. Review connected HR systems, AI services and deployment requirements with your security team. Security reports are available through the ToolJet trust centre.

Do we need engineers to build an onboarding or leave-management tool?

You can start by describing the workflow to ToolJet AI and editing the generated app visually. An admin or developer may still be needed to connect your HR systems, configure sensitive-data access and review complex logic before deployment.

Can we connect our existing HRIS, payroll and calendar systems?

Use a native connector where one is available, or connect through a supported API. The operations available depend on the source system, API access and account permissions. Confirm that your HRIS or payroll provider exposes the records and actions your workflow needs.

Is there a record of who changed an employee record and when?

ToolJet audit logs record platform events such as query runs and app changes. To track employee record changes, design the workflow to save the actor, timestamp and changed values in your HR system or a dedicated history table. Confirm retention and access requirements with your admin.
