Process and approval applications
Requests, reviews and sign-offs shaped like your process, with thresholds and a decision record.
Business applications
The applications your business runs on but no vendor sells: the approval flow shaped like your process, the dashboard for your metrics, the portal for your partners. Describe them and ToolJet builds working apps on your data, with the controls IT already expects. Refine visually; involve engineers only where it counts.
| Request | Department | Amount | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warehouse automation · Pune | Operations | $640,000 | Awaiting CFO |
| CRM migration | Sales | $210,000 | Approved |
| Lab equipment refresh | R&D | $185,000 | Approved |
| Office fit-out · Leeds | Facilities | $95,000 | Returned |
Requests above $250k need CFO approval after the department head; show the full chain on each request

Type what you want in plain language. ToolJet generates the pages, queries and logic as a working app. Connect your data, set who can see what, and review the generated logic before publishing. Edit the app on the canvas afterwards.
Built on the systems your business already runs
Have developers? They can build the same apps fromthrough the ToolJet plugin
Requests, reviews and sign-offs shaped like your process, with thresholds and a decision record.
Finance, sales, operations and HR metrics from your warehouse and systems, filtered by owner.
Scoped external views over your data, embeddable and white-labelled.
Project intake, prioritisation, capacity and roadmap boards with scoring and status.
Vendors, assets, contracts, cases, with controlled changes and history.
Self-hosted workflows that run on schedules or events to notify teams and sync between systems.
100+ native connectors plus any REST, gRPC or GraphQL API. Or start on ToolJet Database, the managed Postgres in every workspace.
In plain language on the canvas, or from a coding agent through the ToolJet plugin. ToolJet generates pages, queries, logic and permissions.
The people who run the process adjust fields, stages and views visually. Engineers add custom logic in JavaScript or Python only where needed.
Configure SSO, roles, row-level access and audit logs on a plan that includes them. Review permissions in staging before releasing to production.
In production
Built in, not bolted on
Identity, permissions and audit apply to every app, whether a person built it on the canvas or an agent built it from a prompt. SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and GDPR; self-host if you need to.
SAML, OIDC and LDAP, with directory groups mapped onto ToolJet roles and provisioning through SCIM.
Workspace, app, page, component and query-level access, with row-level security where the data needs it.
Platform events with actor, resource and timestamp; configurable retention; export to your SIEM.
Choose managed ToolJet Cloud or self-host in your VPC or on-premise. Air-gapped operation, BYOK and private AI gateway deployment are Self-hosted Enterprise add-ons.
Security and governance features vary by plan. Workflows and Agent Builder are available on Self-hosted only; BYOK is a Self-hosted Enterprise add-on. Compare plan availability.
Two ways to get there
Self-serve
Start free. Describe the tool, refine it on the canvas, and ship it under your own access rules. Start with one app, then test it with your team before rolling it out.

When the timeline is fixed or the process is tangled, our engineers build alongside you: scoped delivery, production-ready apps, and knowledge transfer so your team owns the result.
Talk about a projectAny application that runs a business process rather than serving as your product: approvals, dashboards, portals, planning boards, record management. ToolJet builds these on your existing data instead of in a new system.
ToolJet started as an open-source low-code builder and now generates full applications from a prompt or a coding agent, with the visual editor for refinement and code where it earns its place. The governance layer is the same either way.
Usually the business team that owns the process, with IT connecting systems and reviewing permissions. Engineers step in for custom logic, components or integrations that do not exist yet.
Yes. Deploy with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm or OpenShift in your VPC or on-premise. Fully air-gapped operation requires the Self-hosted Enterprise air-gapped add-on. Managed ToolJet Cloud is also available, and the core is open source.
Pricing is per builder, not per user. Every plan includes an end-user allowance and Enterprise includes unlimited end users, so rolling a tool out widely does not add a seat for every viewer. The pricing page lists the allowance on each plan.
